A Daily Ikon Portrait Session

A portrait session begins when you contact me and begin designing  unique session to fit your vision.  I work with you to select the details of your session.

  • Location: I have many locations I enjoy shooting at with varied settings from parks, to rural locations, to urban spots.
  • Length: There are several different starting points for length, the most basic being a 30 minute session for head shots.
  • Attire: Not sure what to wear?  I can help with suggestions that will help create beautiful portrait.  Want to wear more than one outfit?  That’s possible too, I can select a location that has convenient places to change yourself or your children.
  • Picture delivery: within 4 weeks of your portrait (6 for a wedding), you’ll receive notice that your event has been release on Pictage, my digital darkroom service.  You can share the link with friends and family, preview your photos online, and order prints, cards or other photo products.  You can also purchase the CD with all of your images as a part of your package if you like, and pictures can be posted online wherever you have an online presence provided you link to my website.
  • Post-processing: If you’re wondering why it takes 4 weeks to get your pictures, I post process each final image in Photoshop to not only enhance the picture but to ensure that each picture is a unique work of art.

Shooting methods and philosophy

I specialize in capturing the real person in a portrait.  Because I often haven’t met my client in person until the actual shoot, this is one of the reasons I start with one hour sessions.  It often takes several shots to warm up and feel comfortable enough with each other that you feel like you can be yourself.  To accomplish this, I create “poses” where you can interact with your environment or the other people in the shoot in order to find the most natural expressions.

When taking portraits of children, I like to either interact with them on a playground where I can follow them as they play, or bring along props (you can bring your own too) that they can interact with so that I can capture their unique personality in a portrait.

A Daily Ikon Engagement Session

An engagement session works a lot like a portrait session.  I can craft shoots to provide you with pictures for your invitations, save the dates, picture guest books, and those timeless prints to go with your signed mate from your occasion.

Like a portrait, I also specialize in capturing the real couple, something that extends beyond recording just your personalities individually, but getting a sense for who you are as a couple as well.

A Daily Ikon Wedding

Daily Ikon weddings are custom-crafted packaged tailored to fit your needs, vision, and the all important budget.  I shoot weddings with a photo-journalistic style, meaning I’m on location during all the major events of your day recording them as they unfold.  I also have fun creating unique portraits of the couple, the bridal party, and the family members for those all important albums and keepsake prints.
